Base-10 Personnel

RL Sven Wraith

"VIctory at any cost..."

Blood Type: AB

Sven Wraith is a former Typer. His unit was crushed in a surprise attack from a Bydo Mass years back, leaving many of his comrades dead and him with a permanant limp in his right leg. The 38-year-old uses a black cane to walk with to this day. He was never able to fly a Raiden again after that engagement.

When the concept of the Raiden-Hybrid program was first drawn-up, Wraith was one of its principal supporters. The Supreme Joint Command gave Wraith full control of its day-to-day operations, promoting him to the position of 'Raiden-Leader', or RL. He was subsequently assigned to Base-10 as the base's subcommander.

RL Wraith is a to-the-point, no-nonsense individual. He shows little emotion in his day-to-day activities, but is often bitterly sarcastic in private. Due to his guarded nature, it is often difficult to figure out Wraiths motives or rationale behind any decision he makes. He is the coordinator for the mysterious 'Antipathy Project', and has his own agenda for the R-H units.

Dr. Samuel Roont

Sam Roont is a certified member of the faculty at 'Bydo Labs', from which all information regarding the creatures is analyzed. His primary degree is in 'Bydo Tech Adaptations', meaning he is qualified to either design or service Raiden spacecraft (all of which incorporate some Bydo elements in their design). His secondary degree is in 'Experimental Bydo Physics'.

Roont was an assitant engineer at the Labs for several years before pursuing his secondary degree; he picked up this degree in record time and soon after was assigned to Base-10, to oversee the roll-out of a new Raiden unit: the R-H model. He was a major arcitect in the initial construction of the Hybrids, and requested the Base-10 assignment to continue his work on the new spacecraft.

Dr. Roont has been described as having a rather unsavory personality: like that of a phony politician. He has an obvious amorous attraction to Chenine Chovert, which is even more inappropriate considering what he is doing to the pilots (and their ships) through the clandestine 'Antipathy Project'.

Lieutenant Laura Hayle

Laura Hayle is the Second Lieutenant in charge of communications and logisitics in Command Ops, the operational heart of Base-10. She is a compotent command officer, but quite erratic and disorganized in her off-duty hours. She's nicknamed 'the cola-nut' by some because she is almost never seen without either a half-drunk soda by her side or a cup of coffee in hand.

(...As her last name suggests, she is 'reassigned' to a different position later on in the story...)

Scott Tabris

Tabris is a Lieutenant, Junior Grade, serving in Ops under Laura Hayle and others. During his final years in college he was allowed limited access to the Bydo Labs and their equipment to conduct his honor's thesis. As such, he has a rather extensive background in Bydo Tech, for a lieutenant JG.

Sam Roont requisitioned the Base Commander to use Tabris as his research assistant. Scott spends most of his time with Roont performing menial tasks on the Raidens that a regular engineering grunt would be assigned to. However, owing to the nature of the Hybrid ships, Roont has to be selective about who he allows to see the inner trappings of the ships...

Scott has a pretty strightforward sense of humor, but doesn't take too kindly to sarcasm or anything that directly mocks or makes light of him. He is fairly arrogant and greatly overestimates his involvement with the Hybrid program (his knowledge of the ships is superficial, at best). He has a major crush on Chenine Chovert and this, along with his penchant for talking too much, cause friction to develop between him and Roont.

Jen Drake

Jen is a fiery-tempered research assistant from a major university, where she worked as a research assistant before being drafted by the military because she knew how to use the latest electronic consoles. She works with Laura Hayle in Ops of Base-10.

The pink-haired, nose-ringed, tatooed tart hates two things above all else: the Bydo and the military. She was less than thrilled about being drafted, and has no initial interest in researching Bydo Tech. Her nationality is debatable. She appears to be dominantly Caucasian, but she appears to have adopted several Airen customs in her manner of dress and how she addresses others (the Airen are a breakaway Asian culture in the region of Japan).

Commander Ron Faught

Faught is a grizzled, old-school style commander. The 60-something man is hard-nosed and champions the use of conventional military force over the 'mumbo-jumbo' approach of Raiden Tech. He harbors an intense dislike for the nebulous Sven Wraith, and resents the presence of the R-H Program on his base, as well as the members of the Tears' Shower Squadron.

The Antipathy Committee

This secretive organization pulls its resources together for the 'Antipathy Project'. Their specific affiliation, and ultimate motives, are unclear.

Other Typers

Connor Trent

Connor Trent is a citizen of the Scottish Crown Territory. His squadron, the 'Salt 'o Scots', is located at Base-Sruighlea , near the Firth of Forth (approximately twenty miles from Edinburgh). Trent is a ferocious fighter and stubborn individual. He makes impressions at the drop of a hat, and very few things can change those impressions. He places loyalty to one's 'kin' (fellow Typers) above all else. His aggressiveness in combat is incredible, to the point that his heroics could often be considered reckless.

Trent is commissioned as the senior pilot of the R-Type 'Excel'-class ship 'Principalities'.

The 'Principalities' from 'R-Type: Final'. In 'Typers' the ship has the formal letter designation R-EX-2887 and it is an 'Excel'-class Raiden.
